Housing Equity
-A lack of affordable and safe housing is one of the largest concerns in the country today. Historically, public housing has been problematic for a number of reasons. Institutional racism has also contributed to inequalities in home ownership and housing access. What have been the problems associated with public housing design, construction and maintenance? What are the racist historic structural barriers that have systematically prevented communities of color from attaining home ownership? How does inequality and segregation in housing affect schools, infrastructure and other qualities of the built environment?
