how did Sparta react to the political realities of the Hellenistic period?

The paper was supposed to be in ‘classics’, but I guess this site didn’t have that as a subject. I’m looking for a 7-8 page paper on Sparta, and how it reacted to the political realities of the Hellenistic Period. Essentially, a history of Sparta from about 400 BC until about 100 BC, by which time it was basically a client state of Rome, with a focus on Spartan society and the impact that losses like the battle of Leuctra had on Spartan culture.

The book “Hellenistic and Roman Sparta : A Regional History 1300-362 BC” by Paul Cartledge, as well as “The Eurypontid House in Hellenistic Sparta” by E.I. Mcqueenwould be good sources, but I can’t find much else.
