How did women impact U.S. History from 1965-the present?
Many women impacted history during this period. One way to approach this question is role on class issues. To show how women played a role in class you can use Moreno (Document 28). Moreno documents the difficult life of a farmworker and calls out the U.S. for its international aid. You can also cite Huerta (Document 27). Huerta is calling on the California government to pass a law that protects laborers. Another source to use if Friedan (Document 31). Friedan is making the case (from a middle-class viewpoint) that women have more to provide to society and should not be limited by husbands to the life of a housewife. Patricia Robinson is also advocating for greater economic freedoms (Document 31).
Another way to answer this question is to show the wider role of women (not focusing on one topic). Here you can show the many things women did. For example, women impacted popular culture with music (feminist songs). Women made changes in education (Angela Davis speech/documentary). Women fought the Vietnam War (Ybarra, Document 26). Other women believed that Feminism caused harm to women (Schflay, Document 31).
