Please note that this prompt is deliberately broad. You must narrow this topic further to make it more manageable, and to make your argument clear.
In your essay, you must engage with – not merely cite a single passage, but discuss to some considerable degree – at least six unique texts; you may choose to bring in additional materials at your leisure:
Yuri Herrera’s novel Signs Preceding the End of the World
Kleber Mendoça Filho and Juliano Dornelles’ film Bacurau (available at the library)
At least one additional film that we have screened this semester
At least one work of literature (fiction, poetry, comic, non-fiction, etc.) that we have read this semester (Note: Words without Borders materials are fair game for this requirement.)
At least two critical works we have read this semester (material from L&G Reader, Blackboard, etc.) from any point before the final week (In other words, material read for the last class does not count toward fulfilling this requirement.)
You must use concrete evidence from these texts to prove your arguments.

For the purposes of this paper, you should not need outside sources at all. You are, however, welcome to bring in other texts if you wish but those does not counts towards the requirements.
Provide your own title to your essay (although do not put it on a separate cover page).
Please also put only your last name on each page of the exam. Number the pages as well.
