How does Augustine view the relationship between faith and reason?

To quickly recap these requirements:
(1) Initial discussion posts must be at least 350 words.
(2) Initial discussion posts must cite one (or both) of the text books. An acceptable citation will involve a direct quotation (or paraphrases) of one of the texts accompanied by an in-text reference to the source you referencing. If you are unfamiliar with in-text citations, please visit this website: https://www.wikihow.com/Do-In%E2%80%90text-Citations-in-MLA (Links to an external site.)
(3) Follow-up posts may be written in response to any point made in the ensuing discussion. Merely stating that you agree/disagree with someone’s point or like/dislike their post is not an acceptable response. Such posts will not receive credit. Explaining why you agree/disagree with someone’s point or like/dislike their post, however, will earn you credit.
(4) All posts must be proofread. A post that contains more than ten spelling or grammatical errors will automatically receive a failing grade.
Week Six Discussion Question
Augustine characterizes his philosophical project as one of “faith seeking understanding.” What does he mean by this? To put it another way: How does Augustine view the relationship between faith and reason? Are they mutually supporting? Does one take priority over the other? How might Augustine’s 4th century philosophical ideas relate to what contemporary psychology teaches us about the way that our emotions, likes/dislikes, and prior beliefs effect the way we form new beliefs and process information (see the posted video on confirmation bias)? Support your answers using philosophical argumentation.
