How does positive and negative emotion stimuli affect the lexical decision task?

Hello,

I am writing a research paper in experimental Psychology and I need help writing quality 3 page intro. I have a structure requirments and sources to choose from. Here is the structure:

Introduction:
STRUCTURE: General to Specific
Lays out the topic and
research question of the study
Describes the theory or constructs being studied
Describes RELEVANT past research with the variables.
Poses the hypotheses or goals of the study
More explanation:

– should begin with a very general introduction to the problem area – then start to narrow by citing the results of prior works that have been conducted in the area and that bear on the specific issue that you are investigating (journal articles we gonna use)
• a statement of the variables to be investigated
• then state the purpose of your study and your hypothesis: The purpose of my study is to find out: How does positive and negative emotion stimuli affect the lexical decision task? Hypothesys: Because emotional stimuli affect cognitive abilities for example such as performing lexical decision task. Because of this we make a hypothesys that there will be difference in accuracy on the lexical decision task between the negative and positive emotion stimuli. Also response time on three word factor( related, unrelated and nonword) of participants will be different
• should give the reader the rationale for the given investigation • explain how the current study fits in with prior research. Here we need to explain how our finding in the abstract fit in with the info from journals.

But read the abstract- our own experiment showed no significant difference. Some articles in Journas show different results. We need to explain and combain it.

Here is Abstract of my paper:

How does positive and negative emotion stimulus affect the lexical decision task? In this study we compare two groups of participants (N=124) that were exposed to two different emotion stimuli prior to participating in the lexical decision task. One group of 61 people saw a positive emotion stimulus, and the second group of 63 people saw a negative emotion stimulus. After they needed to create a story about those stimuli and proceed to doing an online lexical decision task. The lexical decision task consisted of three groups of words: related, unrelated and nonwords, and every participant got tested in all three of these word factors. Our data suggests that there was no significant difference in accuracy scores between positive and negative emotion stimulus groups. There was also no difference in response time to related and unrelated words. The difference in response time was between nonword versus related and unrelated words.

In the attached file there a paper with Professors comments. Please study what she exactly wants from her comments on that paper’s introduction!!!

Some Journal Articles, but you are free to add yours: 3 articles should be about emotional stimuli and 2 on lexical decision task:
