For this writing assignment, you will be picking a chapter from the book that you think is especially pertinent to a present-day issue (e.g. politics, social justice, interpersonal relationships, crime, etc.) and writing a paper to someone who hasn’t studied sociology. Your goal is to help them understand what is going on with the present-day issue by using sociological terms and concepts that describe it. You’re welcome to use other sources besides your book, but you must include at least 4 terms from your chapter and put them in bold. Your paper needs to be between 3 and 4 pages long, double-spaced, 1″ margins, Times New Roman font. No heading is necessary other than your name and the title of your paper. Your works cited should be APA.
