Assessment Measure (Topics)
Choose one of the following topics:
Option #1:
Research the human behavior and the social environment, person- in- environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks in interventions with clients and the application of knowledge of them.
Option #2:
Research the affirmative action and the merits of affirmative action policies:
a. Have minorities and women been disadvantaged systematically in work opportunities in the past? Are they still?
b. If not, explain why. If so, that gave men and whites an unfair advantage and opportunities for advancement that others did not enjoy equally. Is affirmative action a fair way to attempt to equalize that playing field? Why or why not?
c. Whites and men who have experienced unearned advantages in the system have at times claimed that they are being victimized by reverse discrimination through affirmative action and as they are being punished for something over which they had no control. How would you respond to that assertion?
d. Is there a way to equalize the playing field other than through affirmative action?
e. If we abolished affirmative action and didnt replace it with any other program or policy, what do you think would happen? Are there factors still present today that would still give men, whites, and other privileged groups an unfair advantage?

Research the self-awareness and self-regulation in the field of social work, to manage the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse clients?
