Hypothesis Tests become very repetitive with slight adjustments between each of the three distributions: z, t, and proportion. You will notice that as we start Two Sample Hypothesis Tests… a lot of the information transfers over, with the primary change being that you have two samples to compare to each other.
For this week’s organizer, you’ll notice the steps are listed out to complete a hypothesis test with some space in between each for any additional notes or reminders you can make for yourself to help you figure out what to do in that step, reminders on calculator steps, or list the options of what might occur.
For example: for Step 1, you could list each of the inequality/equality symbols that will go with Ho/Ha. Each of those only have 3 choices; you will never see an equal sign in Ha, etc. Also, you could write yourself a reminder of the complements to each symbol – equal sign goes in Ho, what goes in Ha?
For example: for Step 3, how do you know when it is left tail shaded vs. right tail shaded vs. two tails? Was it something in the wording of the problem? Was it in Ho/Ha?
