1. In this module, we discussed two types of methodological artifact that may contribute to the gender differences in rates of diagnosis of mental health disorders. Define each of these artifacts and discuss how they each contribute to the gender bias.
2. Identify a friend/family member/colleague to interview regarding symptoms of Major Depression Disorder (MDD). Without discussing with them before (or allowing them to look up information on the disorder), ask them to describe behaviors of a woman with MDD. Then, ask them to describe the behaviors or a man with MDD. Be sure you record their responses separately.
3. Discuss any differences you recorded from the interview.
Discuss what researchers mean by the “Suicide Gender Paradox”? What are some factors that contribute to the support of this paradox?
For section 2 do not worry about interviewing anyone. All of the information will be in the opentext link that is provided. This does not have to be essay format either this can be answered by each number.
