Health literacy is about how people understand information
about health and health care, and how they apply that information to their
lives, use it to make decisions and act on it. Health literacy is important
because it shapes people’s health and the safety and quality of health care
(WHO).
As an interdisciplinary team member, you will develop a
health education literacy plan, PowerPoint to present to colleagues of the
primary healthcare team.
This is an education package to inform staff of the current
status of the global health concern within their community.
Question

Identify a global health concern and the country/ region of concern.
·
Identify the appropriate Sustainable Development Goal and its relevance to the
global health concern. Sustainable Development Goals may be retrieved from: https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/

Provide an overview of the global health concern to primary healthcare within
the country identified, supported by literature.
·
Provide epidemiological data from relevant contemporary literature.
·
Provide an overview of signs and symptoms, risk factors, treatment and
prevention if applicable to the global health concern.
· Provide a prevention plan
(based on current literature) that has been or is currently utilised to manage
the global health concern
·
Address any issues relating to equity and social justice for the chosen country
and the community.

Assignments should be presented
using: · PowerPoint 8 slides of 5 to 7 lines, each slide should not
be more than 40 words. Reference list on a separate slide, student details on
first slide, total 10 slides. Total words on PowerPoint slide should be between
300 to 400 words with graphics.
Additional 300 to 400 words to explain in detail the content of each
slide as the essay is going to be presented orally. Total number of words
required 700 to 800 words.

This PowerPoint should be written using scholarly convention
and writing including references for all images used. Reference list to be
provided as the last PPT slide using APA 7th Edn. referencing style. The reference list must include at least
three (3) scholarly sources no older than 6 years old with other relevant
articles. Reference under image.

Marking Rubric Criterial

1: OVERVIEW
Identify a global health concern and the country/ region of
concern. Identify the appropriate SDG relevance – Extensive identification of
the global health concern and the selected country/ region of concern and
appropriate SDG identified.
2: EPIDEMIOLOGY
Provide epidemiological data from the literature-Extensive
discussion of significant, recent, relevant epidemiological data.
3: TREATMENT & PREVENTION
Provide an overview of signs and symptoms, risk factors,
treatment and prevention, applicable to the global health concern- Extensive
discussion of treatment and prevention of global health concern
4: PREVENTION PLAN
Provides and discusses a prevention plan (based on current
literature) that has been or is currently utilised to manage the global health
concern -Provides an extensive overview of a prevention plan for the identified
global health concern.
5: Equity and social justice
Addresses equity and social justice- Extensive
identification of equity and social justice in relation to the targeted
community.
6: POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
High level achievement of PowerPoint content and
construction. No errors in grammar or spelling. Graphics support the
theme/content. Overall presentation is logical and clear and well supported
