We’ve all had the opportunity to make certain observations about society. Let’s start using sociological theory and empirical research to sharpen those observations of our own experiences. Identify a group or culture you grew up in or are a part of or a group that you have knowledge of. How has that setting affected your social identity (or the identity of group members)? How has that group been influenced by any of the many social institutions? How can someone use a sociological research method to more objectively understand this group and the people within it?
