1. a. Using specific examples, identify and discuss 4 ways in which the videos illuminate masculinity and/or masculinities in relation to the following content (APA style citations) – Any 4 required course readings (text chapters and/or journal articles) – 2 outside scholarly sources (i.e., journal articles or books)
b. Identify and briefly discuss two key connections between the assigned films and Angry White Men: American Masculinity in the Age of Trump (2019) shown in lecture on February 07

2. Briefly discuss your impressions of the videos. Did you find them effective? Troubling? In what ways? Given the opportunity to expand on or change an aspect of this assignment, what would this be? Note: *For those working in pairs or groups, this section should also include a collaborative discussion about individual views and how these were similar and/or different.
3. Additional questions for pairs and/or groups (combine your responses into 1 answer): How did you select who to work with? Describe your planning and organizing processes. How did you plan and organize the tasks involved to ensure that each member contributed equally? What, if any, challenges did you face?
In what ways did you benefit from working together? Suggest and complete 1 additional component for this assignment that would be fair for pairs or groups to complete (e.g., working with additional sources?) Please show how/where you have included the additional component in your answer.
4. For those working in pairs or groups, each individual must submit the same copy of the assignment to SAKAI. Include all group members’ names on the title page. One copy will be graded (typically, the first in alphabetical order) with comments provided in the instructor feedback summary box on Sakai. The same grade will be entered for each member and the same comments provided
5. Length: approximately 4-6 pages + Title page + Reference page. Please number responses (i.e., Question 1, etc.) and answer in single-spaced essay-style (e.g., sentences, paragraphs) with double spaces between each question.
Some things to think about when completing this assignment:
1. You are not being asked to provide summaries of the films
2. Consider technology and internet issues – leave enough time to access the films and review if needed
3. Make connections, provide examples and use citations throughout your work.
4. Demonstrate your understanding of course content in relation to the films
5. It is not necessary to cite and use all of your sources equally
6. It is not possible (nor is it expected) to cover every detail from the films. Focus on some central examples and ideas. Ideally, you will focus on content that has the most meaning or relevance for you
7. Ask for clarification when unsure
8. The rubric is in a separate attachment
9. Note additional requirements for pairs and groups
10. No additional readings, lecture or seminars the week of February 28-March 04. Please use this time to focus on the assignment
