Identify and read up on three RCTs in which the study authors did not find expected effects on the main outcome variable(s).
Select the RCTs from a meta-analysis (null effects in a forest plot) OR select three RCTs on the same intervention based on a literature search.
Specify the meta-analysis (if used) and the three reports using APA style for references, and give hyperlinks to them.
Focus on the main outcome variables covered by the authors and for which they detected no effects.
Describe the studies in the paper briefly but attend mainly to to the author’s explanations of why they did not get expected effects in each study. If no reasons are given, then say that.
Give your own opinion if you have an informed one, but separate your opinion from the author’s opinions about failure.

Keep in mind the themes of the articles by Allen-Platt et al and Boruch-Ruby that I reviewed in class. These are a guide to categorizing the reasons that the authors give for failing to detect the effects that they expected.
