National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) Paper
The student is to develop a 3-5 page paper (excluding title and reference pages) following APA format
on how NPSGs can impact their identified patient aggregate. Utilize the APA headings (APA Manual,
page 62) when developing your paper. Use of proper grammar, spelling, sentence, structure, and
punctuation is required. You must have a minimum of three references. All references must be scholarly
and published within the last 5 years. You may use the NPSG and QSEN websites that are linked in the
module. You will need introductory and summary paragraphs.
1. Identify the population aggregate that you have chosen for the Flexible Option.
2. Discuss your identified population aggregate and your clinical practice with the aggregate.
3. Identify two (2) NPSGs that impact the way healthcare is delivered to your identified aggregate.
4. Discuss how these chosen NPSGs impact the way that you deliver healthcare to the identified
aggregate using references from The Joint Commission and your textbook.
5. Discuss how these NPSGs correlate with the Quality and Safety Education in Nursing (QSEN)
competencies using references from QSEN and your textbook.
