The purpose of this assignment is to conduct research about hacktivism, analyze the legal and ethical issues associated with hacktivism, discuss techniques for responding to hacktivism, and create a business presentation to persuade others to adopt your proposed techniques.
Read Case 2, titled “Sony’s Response to North Korea’s Cyberattack,” in Chapter 3 of the textbook. Research similar cases of hacktivism and select the case that is most interesting to you. Create an 8-10 slide persuasive PowerPoint presentation to share your findings and justify the adoption of your proposed techniques for addressing the problem. Include relevant speaker notes for each presentation slide. Include proper citation of sources on all slides and speaker notes.
1. Briefly summarize the hacktivism case and identify key stakeholders.
2. Identify the specific legal and ethical issues the case raises in relation to information technology. Were the actions of the key stakeholders legal? Explain why or why not. Were the actions of the key stakeholders ethical? Explain why or why not.
3. State specific laws or regulations that apply to this type of computer hacking and activism.
4. Discuss specific techniques that were used to respond to this case of hacktivism.
5. Using knowledge of laws and ethical principles, identify another appropriate response to the hacktivism case. Justify use of your selected technique with specific persuasive reasons and examples from your research.
While APA 7th style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of source should be presented using APA 7th formatting guidelines.
