Using this week’s reading materials and the supplemental information included, you are going to start designing your database for the final project. To start, you need a logical database design.
Conduct your initial analysis of your desired database. You may select to create a database for any purpose. Examples include a mock small business, a catalog of your favorite TV shows, or a repository of baseball statistics.
Describe your nouns (entities) grouped to common themes
Describe other nouns (attributes) to describe common themes
Identify which nouns uniquely identify (primary key) a specific instance of an entity
Create your initial logical database design including an entity-relationship diagram using UML.
Include relationships in your ER Diagram (identify foreign keys)
Be sure to include Cardinality in your ER Diagram
Describe your reasoning for 1-to-1 or many-to-many relationships
Include 3-5 tables at a minimum.
Submit your work in a word document with supporting text and images. You should cite sources to support the decisions you made in designing your database.
