Following a significant increase in crime rates, community policing has been implemented in town XX. Design a research project to assess an impact of community policing on property crime rates and propose how you can gauge relationship between police and citizens.
Please note there are TWO parts of this research project:
1. Assessing change in property crime rates due to introducing community policing
2. Assessing relationship between police and citizens
Your answers should include:
Research questions and hypotheses
Is it qualitative, quantitative or mixed-method study? Why?
Identify your study design. Is it a true experiment, ethnography, grounded theory, survey, quasi-experiment, narrative study, phenomenology, secondary data analysis, a combination (of what designs) etc.? Why?
Data collection. Indicate whether you propose to use secondary (e.g. arrest data by police) and/or primary data (your research team will collect the data). Indicate your specific data collection methods (such as an interview, a survey, a focus group etc.).
