Imagine that a government can have one or more of the following aims:
a) Keeping the peace
b) Promoting the general happiness of its citizens
c) Protecting the rights of it’s citizens
d) Assuring that its citizens can achieve moral autonomy
e) Assuring that its citizens can live a good and noble life
First, I’d like you to rank this set of political aims from most important to least important and explain your reasoning for why you ranked them as you did. And feel free to add other, different political aims if you believe that other things apart from what’s on this list are political important.
Second, I’d like you to comment on how well we, as a society, are living up to or meeting these political aims.
