If choosing a controversy define and describe the topic, then illustrate both sides of the argument and support with sound factual representation. Here are a few topics worth considering:
▪ How could a border wall protect Americans, or would it be detrimental to civil rights? Why or why not?
▪ Should Marijuana be decriminalized in Texas? Why or Why Not?
▪ Are Women Equal to Men in the United States? Support your case.
In no less than 4 pages, written in APA format, (see APA formatting resources listed below), please address the following:
• Why is this a social issue, and how are individuals affected by this at the group level?
• What information gathered from other research that has been done on the particular subject?
• What did these researchers find, and what are their theories regarding the issue at hand?
• Include any additional research that will support your position and legitimize your stance on the issue.
While this is a reflective, first-person assignment, it is imperative that you take at least one paragraph to support your reasoning with factual validation. Refer to the textbook for theoretical applications regarding the family’s influence. Support any factual inclusions (paraphrases and direct quotes) within the text using (Author Last, Year of Publication), and provide a full reference notation at the end of the document.
Because this is an APA formatted paper, include a title page, cover sheet and reference page. These do not count toward 4 page minimum requirement.
