In your response, it is particularly useful to think about the relationship to Wallerstein’s ideas about the World System (core-center-periphery nations) and Anderson’s ideas about “imagined communities” (imagining ourselves and others through a framework of nations with national identities). Who are the people who make claims about what civilizations are and what they do? And how do they promote these ideas?
