Review the concepts related to dying and bereavement across the life span, the four-component model, and Kübler-Ross’s five stages of dying. Identify the key differences in dying and the bereavement process across the life span. Apply the four-component model to the grieving process at one of the life stages you identified in the first paragraph. Use your imagination or apply your personal experience to describe the grieving process for your chosen life stage in terms of the following: The context of the loss; refer to risk factors, such as whether the death was expected. Continuation of subjective meaning associated with loss, ranging from evaluations of everyday concerns to major questions about the meaning of life. Changing representations of the lost relationship over time. The role of coping and emotion regulation processes that cover all coping strategies used to deal with grief. Describe Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s five stages of dying and provide examples that illustrate each stage.

ANNOUNCEMENT from the professor regarding this paper:
The paper should include:
I. An introduction where you state simple facts about what will be covered within this weeks presentation. Remember that introductions do not provide a lot of information because the body of the paper should cover specifics about whatever you mention within the introduction. For example, this paper should start off talking about dying and bereavement, however in your intro you just mention this and then in your first paragraph after the intro you go into more detail on what you learned (and researched) about this particular area.
II. Your first paragraph (and as many additional paragraphs as you need to address this issue across the life span) should address the KEY DIFFERENCES in dying and bereavement across the life span. This means that you are going to provide specific information about how small children grieve AND view death and then provide specific information on how teenagers may grieve AND view death and how Adults and Older persons may grieve AND handle death.
III. After you address dying and bereavement across the life span, your paper should transition into what the four component model is. After you explain it you need to APPLY the model to the grieving process (basically what makes sense about this model as it relates to grief). The last thing you should cover for this section of the paper is to take ONE of the age groups you talked about in the first part of the paper when you explained dying and bereavement (children, teenagers, adults, older people) and explain how this four component model fits with that particular age group.
IV. After you have explained the four component model info, the assignment requires that you address the following based upon your imagination or personal experience:
The context of the loss; refer to risk factors, such as whether the death was expected.
Continuation of subjective meaning associated with loss, ranging from evaluations of everyday concerns to major questions about the meaning of life.
Changing representations of the lost relationship over time.
The role of coping and emotion regulation processes that cover all coping strategies used to deal with grief.
***I am ok with you NOT ADDRESSING ANY OF a-d in this paper and just giving me at least 5 sentences on your personal experience with death and how you dealt with it. If you have never experienced loss you could give an account of how someone you know has experienced death. If you have not experienced death and do not know anyone who has either, then you can write in your paper what you think your response would be if someone close to you died.
V. The last part of your paper should be an overview of Elisabeth Kubler Ross’s five stages of grief AND for each stage give an example of what the stage would look like in real life.
VI. Your conclusion should give a nice 3-4 sentence summary of all of the info you have learned about death and bereavement without EVER USING THE WORD “I”.
