In what ways did that experience impact your view on the subject?

Each student will write a persuasive essay on one of the ethics issues that we will study. Following the writing of your Ethics Position Statements, you should choose one of those subject areas and write a persuasive essay in which you defend your position on the issue. This essay should be 4-6 double-spaced pages. In it you should reflect on your original position statement and on the readings and discussion we had in class on the subject. In what ways did that experience impact your view on the subject? Did your mind change? Did it change completely or a little? Was your previous view reinforced? Did the readings and discussion provide further depth and justification for your view? Attempt to develop a brief but sound and modestly comprehensive argument to defend your view This essay will be due during finals week and will function as our final assignment.
This paper will be graded on
strength and clarity of argument
appropriate and accurate use of philosophical and theoretical concepts
proper citation and reference format
quality of writing:
clarity
essay, paragraph, and sentence structure
grammar
punctuation
Absolute Requirements: If an essay does not meet these requirements, it will be graded a zero until re-submitted with problems rectified.
The essay must be at least 4 full pages of double-spaced text with no more than one-inch margins, not including the reference page.
The essay must be your own original work, not work copied from an author found on the internet or somewhere else, or even a mere paraphrasing of another’s work. See below for the possible penalties of plagiarism.
The essay must make substantive reference to at least three of the assigned readings. Research beyond assigned readings is not required but is encouraged, and the sources cited should meet the standards indicated above.
The essay should include in-text citations and a reference page to document all sources utilized in APA format or another accepted citation/reference format.
