Over the course of this chapter, we have learned about many different aspects of intelligence — theories regarding how intelligence is structured, what the components of intelligence are, and how to measure intelligence, among others.
The Discussion Prompt:
In at least 150 words, answer TWO of the following questions:
Do you think that people get smarter as they get older? In what ways might people gain or lose intellectual abilities as they age?
When you meet someone who strikes you as being smart, what types of things lead to that judgment?
Do you think socioeconomic status affects an individual taking an intelligence test? How might this happen?
Which of Howard Gardner’s 8 types of intelligence do you think describes the way you learn best? Why?
Then, reply to at least TWO of your classmates in a substantive way, adding to the discussion with at least 75 words. Feedback replies can include (but is not limited to) adding to the knowledge provided in your classmate’s post. You could also ask questions about your classmate’s post and propose potential answers. Please remember to be respectful in your feedback.
