Informal Report

CHOOSE
Choose one of the informal reports in Chapter 15 to write for this assignment (choose from: progress report, periodic activity report, trip report, or meeting minutes).
Students may have trouble coming up with a scenario. Here are some options to help get you started thinking of a scenario:
Progress Report: You work for a company of your choice. You are on a team that is completing a large project due in one month. A specialized tool or piece of equipment has broken, and you needed to repair it in the middle of the project, which put you a week behind. Explain your progress and work completed so far (including the challenges and what you did to correct them). Describe the work remaining. Request a one-week extension of the project completion date.
Periodic Activity Report: At your company, you are required to write a weekly report to outline your activities for all the projects you are working on. You have 4 projects to report about, and you completed one training webinar (4 hours) for your certification requirements.
Trip Report: You work in Indianapolis at a branch of a large corporation with headquarters in Chicago. You were tasked with traveling to the Chicago office to train a team of 12 colleagues on the new software system. Report the details of the visit including a purpose statement, how you spent your time, who you met with, a summary of the events, and a conclusion.
Meeting Minutes: You work for a company of your choice. You are on a team that is completing a large project due in one month. You are taking the notes for the meeting at the halfway point of the project.
You should not need to cite any sources for this report since it is geared toward your own experiences and information. You may need to fabricate/invent information if you do not have a real example – that is fine.
