Since this course is designated as a Global Sustainability and Earth Literacy Studies (GSELS) course, each student will prepare and present an informative speech on a global sustainability topic. Such topics include, but are not limited to, climate change, pollution, population, species preservation, gender equality, clean energy, etc. An excellent place to begin is the United Nations Development
The object of this assignment is the organization and presentation of material gathered from researching a specific topic, rather than the research process itself. Therefore, the use of databases is suggested since they are excellent sources for primary resources. In addition, the use of databases can significantly reduce the research burden.

A speech that began with a personal reference should also refer back to that initial concern or need of the audience.
