Instructions:
For this assignment, you will need to find a piece of recent news about an ICT policy issue and relate it back to what we have been discussing and/or reading in class. For example, if we are discussing privacy, see if you can find any recent news events about privacy violations, new privacy regulations that are being proposed, or court cases that are being argued dealing with privacy.
You can find recent news articles about ICT issues on sites dedicated to tech-news such as Wired, Gizmodo, and TechCrunch. Most major U.S. newspapers such as the USA Today, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and LA Times also have dedicated “tech news” sections where you may find relevant articles.
Submissions must be multimodal in nature and address all the areas listed below. Consider creating an infographic using Canva or PiktoChart; a video using Zoom, YuJa Media, or Adobe Premiere Rush; a web tool using Adobe Spark; or a presentation using Google Slides or PowerPoint.
Your multimodal submission should be one concise submission (one file that is multimodal) that addresses/includes each of the following:
A brief summary of the news article you identified.
A discussion of the ICT policy issue highlighted by the story.
An analysis of the “stakeholders” (primary, secondary, and key stakeholders) identified in the article and impacted by the ICT policy issue. Click here to learn more about what is meant by “stakeholder.”

An analysis of how the news story relates back to discussions in class or readings we have done. For example, you might briefly address a question, such as:
Is the news story highlighting an example of a violation of an existing ICT law or policy?
Is a new technology or technological practice complicating older ICT policy?
Is there a debate emerging or continuing regarding a new ICT policy?
Does the news story shed a new light, or provide a different viewpoint about a policy we have been discussing in class?
Be sure to provide bibliographic information for the news article and any other resources you consult in in completing this assignment.
Remember you will be graded on your demonstrated understanding of the ICT issue, the article, and the components listed above. Additionally, you will be graded on your ability to successfully communicate using multiple modes of communication.
