Is #MeToo Enough? Unveiling Structural Inequality, Culture, and Policies Against Gender-Based Violence in Brazil

Research Question: Women around the world face discrimination and gender-
based violence in many forms. Why do women face gender-based violence (GBV) and what are the forms and challenges women in Brazil face in terms of discrimination and violence (GBV)? Is the global #MeToo and similar movements helpful for empowering women around the world?
Literature Review and Research Methods: Research and summarize what other scholars have found about theories, policies, sources and impact of GBV, and social movements to empower women.
Discussion and Analysis: What are the laws and public policies that the country is attempting to address such discrimination, human rights, education, economic disparity and women’s health? What are some of the outcomes? What roles are domestic agencies, governments, and international agencies playing in such efforts?
