Issues Related to Veterans Paper with Infographic (Social Work)

The purpose of this assignment is to develop a product (talking points and infographic)
that can be used to educate a specific audience (e.g., agency administrators, board of
directors, social workers, teachers, etc.) about a trauma- informed human rights
perspective to practice. *The Audience will be social workers*

This assignment is broken into two parts:

1. Topic Exploration
This section of the assignment is to be produced in the form of an introductory
paragraph followed by a series of bulleted lists that includes literature support.
This styling will help demonstrate your ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize
key details required to effectively communicate about and advocate for a traumainformed and human rights perspective to practice and/or organizations to others
(think: talking points). Without a narrative structure, you will need to think
carefully about how to clearly demonstrate the same breadth and depth of critical
thinking as you would in a more typical written essay format. *Bulleted points should have 1-2 sentences each*

After introducing your topic and audience in an initial paragraph, please outline
your thorough understanding of the following based on your selected topic:

What human rights issues are raised in relation to the topic?
o How is this issue addressed in the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights?
o How can a human rights framework be practically applied when
responding to this issue from the perspective of your audience?
(This could be individual and/or organizational practice)

What trauma issues are raised in relation to the topic?
o What are the risk and protective factors for the type of trauma
focused on?
o How can a trauma-informed approach be applied when responding
to this issue from the perspective of your audience? (This could be
individual and/or organizational practice)

What is the scope and limitation of social work intervention in this area on
micro, mezzo and macro levels, as it relates to the organizational setting of
your audience?

Topic Exploration Expectations:
Be approximately 3 single spaced pages in length, excluding reference
page
(remember, majority of this assignment is bulleted lists).
Use of APA in-text citations to support your talking points a minimum of 6 references are required
(academic journals)

2. Infographic
Infographics are visual representations of information. They can include
numbers, text, images, or any combination of the three. Just as in traditional
writing assignments, infographics can take on any of the various rhetorical modes
informative, instructive, descriptive, persuasive, etc. Infographics provide
authors with a quick way to convey a lot of information. (Sage, 2016)

Based on the topic and audience you chose and the exploration you did in part 1,
create an infographic that advocates for a trauma-informed human rights (TI-HR)
approach to practice. You will choose the specific information you want to share/what about the approach you want to highlightnote that the infographic
itself IS an intervention, so you will need to be strategic with the message you
wish to convey.

Be sure to consider the following:

What do you hope to accomplish by introducing a TI-HR approach
regarding your selected topic to your audience?
What is already important to your audience? Consider values,
mission/vision, numbers, finances, turnover, etc.
What aspects of a TI-HR approach to this topic fit with or enhance what is
important to the audience? What aspects fit with what work is already
being done?
What is the best way to convey this information (graphics, colors, spacing,
etc.)?

Your infographic will include statistics, resources and other data/information
relevant to your target audience. Please be sure to appropriately cite any
information actually on the infographic itself. Must have a minimum of 6 references (academic Journals)

There are a number of websites that you can use to create an infographic for free
