Jim Crow

According to Black writer, intellectual, and activist W. E. B. DuBois, the great questions of the twentieth century United States were those of race and racial discrimination in American society, economy, and politics. By the 1950s and 1960s, new waves of civil rights activists emerged across the country, challenging systemic racism especially in (but not limited to) the Jim Crow south.
