Lab Report for Biochemical Reactions

All that’s necessary is for you to include all the biochemical tests we discussed in class and to report on all the following details, i.e., the reactants. enzymes, end products, reagents used to determine if test is positive or negative and just exactly what does a positive or negative result indicate or signify (usually it refers to the presence or absence of an enzyme).
You can easily chart or illustrate the biochemical tests in a chart or concept map. You should also list and report on the following items inclusive:
1. The materials or chemicals used, e.g., starch media (reactant), etc., plus the procedural steps involved in the test, e.g., streaking the specific bacterial species inoculum, and incubating @ 37 degrees Celsius.
2. Adding the reagent iodine.
3. Checking the results (light brown clearing around inoculation streak is positive, dark brown or black zone around streak is negative) for the presence or absence of alpha amylase (enzyme) which catabolizes the polysaccharide starch into the monosaccharide glucose molecules (final products).
4. Any other aspects of the tests you think are necessary for a full description of how to conduct them and explain their results, positive or negative.
5. Please do this for all the biochemical tests we covered during our sessions (check syllabus) and that should be sufficient.
