This assignment will require you to conduct research. You can use the following resources: textbook, Internet, local police department or KU library database. Conduct research on the Arab Americans/Middle Eastern culture, stereotypes, and law enforcement contacts.
Prepare a 10-slide power point presentation, following the below directions:
Slide 1: cover slide
Slide 2-3: discuss key issues associated with law enforcement contact with Arab American and other Middle Eastern groups.
Slides 4-5: describe the reasons for Arab/Middle Eastern immigration to the United States and indicate where the largest populations of Arab Americans reside in the United States.
Slides 6-7: explain the impact of Arab/Middle Eastern stereotypes on law enforcement and on Arab Americans and other Middle Easterners.
Slides 8-9: create a list of suggestions police officers could utilize when they are collecting evidence at a crime scene, when they may or may not have to use Miranda and how they can make proper arrests.
