This is whater other student wrote…………..Are leaders born or made? That question has been debated for years. The Great Man Theory, popularized in the 1840s by Thomas Carlyle, suggested that leadership traits are intrinsic, meaning that great leaders are born and will emerge when confronted with the appropriate situation (Boerma, et al, 2017.) I couldn’t agree more.Great leaders are born, not made: Their brains are just wired differently, scientists say . . . Studies say it proves leaders such as Churchill or Thatcher were born ‘great, (Avolio, 2020.) A great leader is born with an internal trait to be great. We are all born with certain traits that have the potential to make us outstanding leaders. Those traits are highlighted when the environment and circumstances align and allow one to show his/her true potential. These individuals possess certain qualities and talents, such as deep honesty, moral vision, compassion and care, that make them well-suited for leadership. Leaders have a vision. They have this burning fire inside of them and leads them to great things. You can be born with some of the traits that make you a great leader, but you also need to learn the proper skill set to be modeled into a good leader. We need experiences and life to help shape our leadership skills but great leaders are born with a fire inside of them that starts at the beginning of life.
