This paper is a case summary of a court opinion and discussion of how it impacts, and is relevant to, business. To complete this assignment, you will research and select an appropriate court opinion/case. You may choose an opinion by one of the following courts:
United States Supreme Court
United States Court of Appeals (any circuit)
Delaware Supreme Court
Delaware Court of Chancery
In choosing the case, please ensure that it is decided case rather than a case in progress. You will choose a case and obtain approval from the instructor before proceeding.
Organization/Structure:
Cover page
Introduction
A detailed summary of the case (who are the parties, plaintiff and defendant, the facts in dispute)
An explanation of the issue before the court (the questions the court is being asked to decide)
Court ruling and reasoning
Your position/opinion of the case and its outcome, supported by facts
Implications of the court’s ruling on business and individuals
Conclusion
Reference page
Format:
1,500-2,500 words (plus cover and reference page)
Double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font
Use APA format (Leverage the APA Style Resources module in this folder or https://www.dtcc.edu/sites/default/files/apacolor.pdf for APA guidelines)
Must include four reliable, documented references/sources (Reference Page)
Must include APA-formatted citations within the text (Must align with references)
Check grammar and spelling
Include electronic copy of case
