This writing assignment is meant to introduce you to current congressional activity and the
process of contacting your representative. This paper is worth 10% of your grade and is due to
Canvas by Sunday, April 17 at 11:59pm. If you would like to actually send your letter to your
representative, you are welcome to, but I am not requiring you to for the course.
Representatives
You must direct your letter to one of your representatives. If you live in Johnson County, then
you can address your letter to any of the following people:
• Representative Sharice Davids: https://davids.house.gov/
• Senator Jerry Moran: https://www.moran.senate.gov/
• Senator Roger Marshall: https://www.marshall.senate.gov/
If you are not from Johnson County and would like to write to one of your representatives from
back home, that is also okay, but you need to write to either your representative in the House of
Representatives or one of your Senators. You may NOT write to any of your state or local
leaders.
Whichever representative you choose, please take note of their party affiliation and think about
how that may influence their positions and behavior on these issues.
