The purpose of this assignment is for you
to experiment with sound, beyond using a headset. There are different
apps and settings that can greatly improve your sound.

You are going to use Zoom for this
experiment. I want you to record in Zoom while you change settings, and
send me the audio file that Zoom will save (Zoom saves two types of
files). Narrating what you are doing as you go, I want you to change
settings and/or equipment on your computer, as you go, to hear the
difference in sound. After you record it, you will listen to the
recording and write a report of what you learned. I want you to include
at least 4 of the settings below:

use mic from computer, no headset or external mic
use headset
use external mic, such as Blue Yeti, Shure, Rode, etc.
use Zoom advanced audio features (cancel background noise, etc.)
use SoundSource app (it’s free for first 20 mins) or an external mixder

You will submit two things here: the mp3
from your Zoom recording (so audio only) and your report from what you
learned. The report should be at least 500 words. Be specific about what
you did (what equipment, including your computer, your mics, etc) and
reflect on what you learned from this.
