Students are expected to write a double-spaced, 5 page (including Works Cited) literary analysis in 12 point Times New Roman font. Papers must be submitted in MLA format and include a Works Cited page with at least 3 scholarly/academic sources (these can be found at the BSC library databases such as EBSCO–Literary Reference Center, Google Scholar, and various .edu websites). Sources such as Wikipedia, StudyMode, and Shmoop will not count. Cited definitions of literary terms will not count toward the required number of secondary sources.
As you complete your research papers in the coming week please keep in mind that you have to write an analysis of one of the works we studied, not a biographical paper about an author. For example, you might want to analyze the effects of irony in “The Necklace”
