Western Civilization I Midterm Exam (100 points total)
I. Long Essay (Choose 1 of 3 for 50 points– include specific examples to support your ideas).
Compare and contrast Judaism and Christianity with Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman religious views. Include the afterlife, major deities, cults, and rites.
Compare and contrast the major political systems we have studied–including Mesopotamian city-states and empires, Egypt, Greek city-states, and Rome from its founding to Justinian.
Compare and contrast the social structures and daily life of the Mesopotamians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. Include social classes, core values and beliefs, laws, and entertainment.
II. Short Essays (Choose 2 of 6 for 30 points)
