Students respond to three questions, in a 3-5 page paper 1. What is Macro Social work? Define in your own
words. Describe some importan features of its development and how it has affected social reform in the
United States. Why is it important for social workers to understand macro practice and its application to
organizations and communities? 2. How have you personally been involved in the past with efforts directed
At organizational and /or community change? Described the situation. What were the central tasks and
issues?
Who were the actors? What was your rolled? Why were you involved? What were your strengths and
weaknesses in the role you played? WHat personal characteristics and skills did you bring to your
involvement? Did you enjoy the role that you played? Did. You feel effective as a valuable contributor? What
actions were taken, and with what result? Reflecting back, is there anything that you would do differently
now? If so, describe and explain why. Reflect on the efforts as a whole in the context of what we have been learning in class about the history of soical work , approaches, results and knowledge and value base of
macro practice. 3. How do you expect that you may be involved with efforts directed at organizational and or
community change in the future? Specify whether this might be at your placement site, in or in connection with your present or future place of employment.or some other professional or personal context. Describe the
situation. Would you be involved throughchoice, or out of necessity? What would you see as central issues and tasks? What skills will be important to you? How will. Your personal style, characteristics, background and belief system affect and contribute to the work you do? What additional skills might you want to learn, and how would you go about acquiring them? Relate your thoughts on this topic to class sessions and reading
Must use a minimum of one primary source of data and a minimum of one scholarly peer reviewed article.
