Media Perspectives Paper* (30 points)
Many controversial issues in the field of sexuality have a rich history of research, debate, and cultural acceptance/ ridicule. Students are asked to select a problematic sexual behavior of their choice (covered in this course), select two distinct time periods OR two geographic locations, and provide a content analysis of media opinion coverage of this issue to compare norms, values, and cultural treatment of this problem. Students should contextualize their findings with a review of the treatments (both psychological and legal) of this problem in the time periods OR geographic sites they have selected. The paper should be written in APA format and be 15-18 pages long. It should include an introduction, approach review (reviewing the psychological and legal approach to the issue), methodology, findings, and comparative discussion & conclusion. A rubric, further resources, and paper template can be found at the end of the syllabus
