Media schedule and Budget

Media Schedule and Budget
Create a media schedule and budget for
your campaign using five media tactics. You may use the five created in the
Mini-Projects and Discussion Boards (two traditional media, social media video,
direct mail, and email), create new tactics, or a combination. Use the following information to create the
documents.
Part 1 Media Schedule: 1 year (Table and List)
Create a media schedule with the
following elements:
· Create a horizontal bar graph by creating a
table. In Word, hit “Insert” then “Table”
and then “Insert Table.” When asked the
number of rows pick six (one for each tactic and an additional one for the heading. When asked for the number of columns pick five
(one for each quarter and an additional one for the heading.
· After dividing the graph using the timeframe of
1 year divided into quarters, consider your budget of $2 million, and schedule
the tactics for each quarter and what level of use (consistent, light,
moderate, and heavy).
· Indicate level of use (consistent, light,
moderate, and heavy) using colors and a color key. To add colors to your table,
right click on a black, and add shading.
Tip If you “Google” the “cost of
television commercial” you will find that one 30-second national commercial
cost over $300,000. Andrews and Shimp
(2018) report “it may cost up to $500,000 (on average) to just produce a
national TV ad campaign” (p. 372). You
may decide to change television commercials to YouTube commercials to stay
within budget. Consider what YouTube
videos your target audience watches.
Part 2 Budget: Pie Chart using $2 million
Create a budget pie chart with the
following elements:
· Create a pie chart to reflect spending plan totaling
$2 million.
· Each piece of “pie” should represent a different
media tactic.
· Include the percentages and dollar amounts of
each tactic in pie chart.
· Add 2–5% of the budget for Contingencies and
2–3% for Research & Evaluation into the pie chart.
· Make sure your numbers add up.
