Methodology and Design

Methodology and Design
Developing the research problem, purpose, and research questions sharpen the focus of the study.
The next step is determining the design methodology. If the purpose and research questions of the study require numerical measurement, it will likely be a quantitative study. If
the purpose and research questions concern the perceptions of study participants, it will likely be a qualitative study. In this module, you examine methodology. Use the Design Alignment Tool to guide your work as you develop your methodology and design. Working through the tool, develop each individual research question, including describing the instrument, the data points, and then the data analysis plan that best aligns with each research question. For example, in a quantitative study, you might have an archival standardized student test Once you add the independent variable and the scales of the instrument, you will recognize that there is at least one possible way to analyze the data
