This is one of the most famous studies in the history of psychology. It was done in the early 1960s. The study was designed to determine if average people would harm another person just because an authority figure told them to do so. Read the study. Did the results surprise you? Why or why not? Do you think that if the study was done today, the results would be the same? Why or why not? Did you think that this was an ethical study? Why or why not? Just so you know, no one was actually shocked in this study. The study was completely about the people who thought they were shocking other people.
