You will need to identify FIVE important papers in the area that summarize different approaches, methods and/or theories that relate to your topic. The papers you use should be original research articles (i.e. not review articles, meta-analyses, etc.). You can still use review papers, textbooks, etc. to build context – they just can’t be one of the 5 papers you focus on in your literature review.
