You may cite newspaper or other journalism to provide examples or anecdotes with which to make your needs statement richer and more compelling.
You should address the following.
Was the Needs Assessment clearly written in standard English?
Does the Needs Assessment present two or more major pieces of evidence such as quantitative data from the US Census or other source ? Does the Assessment also present evidence from media sources or the organization itself?
Does the Needs Assessment employ a logical argument that not just cites sources and data but employs them effectively to make the case that something needs to be done to address real problem(s) or take advantage of genuine opportunities?
