ASSIGNMENT
Nonverbal Space Analysis
Objective: This assignment allows students to practice using the DIE model as they explore physical spaces and the communication that may take place in the spaces.
Instructions:
1. Visit at least two similar public spaces and make note of their environments for the purpose of analysis. While visiting, take pictures/video of the space.
2. In a 1–2-minute video recording,
a. share your observations by describing the space in a factual manner (Describe).
b. after describing the spaces, tell the viewer about the communication that might take place in the space. Talk about how the space might influence the interactions that take place there (Interpret).
c. describe modifications you believe have been made due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
d. Include photos or video of the space in the recording.
