Iyko Day’s “The New Jews” and David Morley and Kevin Robins’s “Japan Panic” address how Asia and Asians have been connected in the U.S./Western imagination as being synonymous with money and technology, respectively. Choosing one of those two essays, address how the novel Severance illustrates and/or pushes back against the arguments that the critics make. Remember to use citations from the articles and close-readings of the novel to support your claims.
