Since all of you are from different majors, I would like to give you the academic freedom to write your weekly papers in the area of your interest, focusing on the topic/title of the lecture notes. Each lecture notes has plenty of material for students to have the academic freedom to decide what type of approach they would like to give to their weekly assignments / 3-page paper.
In terms of the style of each paper, I would like you to write them in MLA format: Word, double space, font size 12 and style Arial or Times New Roman. By the way, when writing the required MLA papers for this course, you may always list the below textbooks and my lecture notes on your Reference / Bibliography page. In addition, you may cite your own academic sources related to the Latin American topic (s) we are studying
1- Chasteen, John Charles. Born in Blood and Fire: A Concise History of Latin America, 2nd ed., New York, N.Y.; London: W.W. Norton & Co., 2006.
2- Klaiber, Jeffrey. The Church, Dictatorships and Democracy in Latin America. Maryknoll, New York: Orbis Books, 1998.
