Opioid Crisis

Opioid addiction is a national epidemic. Every day in the United States, more than 115 people die. According to Abuse Research Alliance, Georgia ranks in the top 11 states for prescription opioid deaths. Drug overdose deaths are almost equal to motor vehicle accidents.
This epidemic does not discriminate. Opioid abuse is found in every age, socioeconomic class, race, and educational level. It is killing out children, parents, and grandparents. No family is immune. No person starts out believing they will cross that line and become a heroin addict, but it is happening daily.
Research the current crisis and explain how it happened and what can be done about it. Discuss the personal, social and legal issues associated with use.
