The topic is Pain Management (ex., ethics, mind/body strategies, etc.) You are going to be asked to stay within that topic but your research should go in on a more specific area. This is so you can be creative and so you can better your appraisal skills. For example, falls could look into patients in an assisted living versus in an acute setting and their injuries. Look for an area that generates enough information to guide your entire paper (15-20 pages worth).
As you can see from the rubric, you will need to list 3 reasons on the significance this topic has to nursing and/or research. Mention the population and the research question in order to receive full points for the introduction of this study.
You will need to critique at least 8 of your 10 articles. This is the bulk of your paper. Aim for about a paragraph for each of your selected articles. Group the papers according to similarities: research questions, population, tools used to measure the variables identify the level of data they will collect and which statistical analytical tests will be used–comment on their appropriateness. Also, identify the following: sample size, internal validity, external validity, reliability of all research tools, and power analysis as identified in the papers.
Final Paper
The Final Paper. The minimum page requirement for the completed paper is 15 pages, which includes the abstract, title page, and references. The maximum number of pages is 20.
all of this information should be synthesized into a paper with the following parts: an abstract, introduction, review of literature, conclusion and reference page.
State the strengths and weaknesses of articles along with the summarization of the knowledge gained from these articles and the implications for nursing practice.
Basically, was the research question answered? Why or why not? What or where is the gap in the literature?
Your final paper will be graded according to the following rubric: Final Research Project Paper Rubric Final Research Project Paper Rubric
